The Premier Podcast for 2 Dead Dogs is Launched
Luke Robinson has launched his 2 Dead Dogs podcast: “2 Dead Dogs is a biofictional account of my 4,000 mile adventures with my Great Pyrenees. It’s an epic homage to the two dogs I lost to cancer, and while I can’t avenge their loss, Mads can. He’s the main character and he’s Deadpool for dogs.”
From the Founder of the Puppy Up Foundation, each episode includes interviews with a crazy cast of actual characters we’ve met along our travels, as well as a whole host of other content about the serial story’s settings and history.
Launch and Drop Date for the first podcast: October 9, 2019. Go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?

October is National Animal Safety and Prevention Month
In addition to Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, October is also National Animal Safety and Protection Month; a month dedicated to promoting the safe practices of handling and caring for both domestic and wild animals. Animals play an important part in our everyday lives, even if we don’t personally have pets. So it’s vital to make sure that they are treated kindly and with the respect and care they deserve.
National Animal Safety and Prevention Month was created by the PALS Foundation. PALS is dedicated to helping people and animals coexist in a way that benefits all of nature. They believe that humans must come to know the value of all animals, both domestic and wild, and the important role that they play in our ecosystem.
There are several ways you can participate in National Animal Safety and Prevention Month. Some of them are as simple as being aware of the needs of your own household pets. For example, make sure they are micro-chipped so if they are ever lost, they can be easily found and returned; collars with identification tags are also just as important. Pet proof your home against the possibility of your animals coming in contact with any dangerous poisons or toxins. Put together a disaster escape plan in case you ever need to evacuate your pets quickly from the home. There are plenty of things you can do to take that extra step in making sure your pets are protected in all circumstances.

Pup of the Month — Luke Marino
(By Molly Marino)
PetSmart was having an adoption event so I walked around to give the pups some pats and love. I came across this poor little black dog wedged way back in the corner of his cage. It took some treats, love and patience but he came out of his cage and came home with us! Luke was my soul dog. There are so many things I miss about him. He loved the water and LOVED to snuggle. Lukey was eleven when he was diagnosed with liver cancer. Sadly, his tumor burst and there was nothing else the cancer center could do. We had to do the “right” thing. The “right” thing was the most painful and hardest thing I’ve ever done. To comfort him I got his favorite food and whispered in his ear the story about when he was a baby and how much we wanted him to come home with us so we could love him. He kissed my tears away until he could not anymore. I love and miss you every day, Luke. I am so happy I got to know you and have you in my life for 11 wonderful years.
(Luke was a contestant in the 2018 Puppy Up Calendar Contest.)
How You Can Help
Just like there are many different breeds of dogs, The Puppy Up Foundation needs many different volunteers to help the organization. No matter where you live or how much time you have to offer, there is a role for you.
Are you detailed-oriented, creative and artistic, great at internet research or making phone calls? Would you like to volunteer at fun, educational events? Share your interests and talents and help raise awareness and funding for canine cancer and comparative oncology.
Donate to the Cause
It’s estimated that between 4 and 6 million dogs die from cancer each year and recently it was announced that 36 children a day are diagnosed with cancer. Our pets and our children are being attacked by this deadly disease. Your donation to The Puppy Up Foundation will help further our mission of discovering the causes of cancers and their common link in both pets and people.
Your gift is very much appreciated and fully deductible as a charitable contribution. The Puppy Up Foundation is a 501 C(3) organization and our tax ID number is 47-2319212. All transactions conducted on our Web site are encrypted using a secure server to protect your privacy. All donations are final. All transactions are happening in the United States.
