This just in from our long-time friend and supporter, Hope Lisle:
I will be organizing the first PUPPY UP! DENVER walk on November 6, 2011 but our first project is just one week away. I need volunteers (human and canine) to volunteer at the 2 Million Dogs Table at The Rocky Mountain Cluster of Dog Shows in Denver on Saturday, February 19 and Sunday, February 20. Please contact me at hopelisle@yahoo.com and title your e-mail “Denver Dog Show” if you can help. The hours are from 9 AM to 3 PM and will be divided into 2 or 3 hour shifts.
This is a huge dog show (over 2300 dogs are entered) and this year is extra special because it is their 25th anniversary. There are always several dogs at this show who have just returned from the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. You can come out and make a difference while having a good time with your best friend. You can also watch show dogs, agility dogs, and obedience dogs. In addition, you can buy some cool stuff because this show always has terrific vendors. Unfortunately, because 2 Million Dogs is classified as a non-profit, we are not allowed to sell merchandise at this show. But we will be giving out lots of information. Also, the only dogs allowed at the show are the ones that are entered in the show or entered as a vendor. If you are just coming to watch the show, please leave your dog at home.
On a personal note, this weekend is the 2 year anniversary of the loss of my amazing little Boston Terrier, Daisy, to a brain tumor. I lost Daisy on Valentine’s Day 2009, which was on a Saturday that year and also the weekend of the big Denver dog show. Daisy competed in conformation and in agility at this dog show numerous times.
