When I adopted Winston when he was 5 1/2 years old. I knew he needed patience, love and support to help build his confidence. I thought “I will teach you so much so you can live a happy life full of love and free from fear”. In the end when he left me at 12 after battling cancer for 2 years and completely blowing everyone’s expectations away, I realized it was he who taught me… He taught me so much about the importance of waking up everyday with a “tail wag” no matter what you are going through.
Winston became a true inspiration and will always be remembered that way.
