Oliver Kodman

“I am grateful that we caught his cancer early!”

Oliver is an honorary Fuzzybutt and was chair of the Shoreline, CT Puppy Up Walk for 5 years! He is a rescue from National Great Pyrenees Rescue, and quickly became my “heartdog”.  Ollie has been by my side ever since. Oliver welcomed a new sister, Iggy Valentine in 2016, after his losing his big sister Sydney to cancer in 2015. They bonded instantly.  In 2019, Oliver began having seizures and in 2020, after eating dinner one night, Oliver sneezed blood tinged mucous. Ollie was seen the next day by his primary vet, followed by several specialists and had a rhinoscopy. The biopsy results came back, and the diagnosis was Squamous Cell Carcinoma of his nasal planum. With Oliver’s unrelated seizure disorder, I made the decision to have radiation therapy on this very aggressive cancer.

Oliver is 1 year post radiation therapy and so far, so good. I am grateful and hopeful that we caught his cancer early!
