“We are just crazy about him!”
This is Jake – he is a 13-year-old Beagle/Poodle mix. He’s quite smart and stubborn. He is the alpha in the house, and even though he’s lost his sight (right eye to a cataract; left eye to malignant ocular cancer), he seems to think he’s in charge and we answer to him.
In his younger days he loved playing at doggie day care, fetch, and tug. Plus, he loved long walks. Since he’s gotten older and lost his sight he has become more of a “cat”: he likes to eat and sleep all day.
In addition to his ocular cancer he has laryngeal paralysis, and some of the worst allergies his dermatologist has ever seen in a dog. He is bathed once/twice weekly to help with the allergies. We are just crazy about him and love him to death!
