Henry crossed the Rainbow Bridge at the age of 15 in May 2021. I was blessed to have been his mom and ball tosser for 13.5 years. Rescued at 18 months, he was an energetic, nervous boy who quickly turned into the gentlest and tremendously sweet companion.
Henry was a master at beating the odds. Not only did he survive being abandoned as a pup, he adapted after two strokes impacted his vision at age 12. When he was 14, he was diagnosed with an aggressive oral tumor that was predicted to become unmanageable within 4-6 weeks, yet he beat cancer for four months. He continued to smile, to take walks, and to enjoy as many meals as possible!
He was a beautiful soul who exuded so much joy. He is an inspiration to me – an example of how to never give up and to always put love first.
