September Campbell Selves

“My “joy” dog, Campbell was always celebrating the good stuff.”

Campbell was a rescue pup from a local animal shelter. He was deaf and also had distemper. Luckily, he survived distemper and he never let a hearing disability stand in his way. Always called my “joy” dog, Campbell was a tail wagging, big headed, smiling pit bull. He loved everyone! In the fall of 2015, I learned that he had a mast cell tumor. That was the first of three MCT’s that were removed over the next couple of years. Each time Campbell had to wear the “donut” and being his energetic self, that was usually a challenge! In 2018, he passed after a splenic tumor ruptured. Broke my heart.

I’ve always felt that God puts animals in our path to teach and help us – and I’ve thanked Him many, many times for Campbell. No matter what life brings our way, Campbell taught me to move forward with an eagerness to overcome, never sweat the hurdles and always, always be thankful in celebrating the good stuff.
