National Cancer Survivors Day is “a celebration for those who have survived, an inspiration for those recently diagnosed, a gathering of support for families, and an outreach to the community,” and is celebrated on the first Sunday in June. The day is meant to “demonstrate that life after a cancer diagnosis can be a reality.” NCSD was first announced by Merril Hastings at the second national conference meeting of the National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship in Albuquerque, New Mexico on November 20, 1987.

The PuppyUp Foundation applauds all our friends (both canine and human), and supporters who are cancer survivors, encourages those who are still fighting, and honors the memory of those we have lost. We celebrate their courage and determination!
