Bynx
Bynx was a wonderful dog! Many people might have been intimidated by his 96 pounds of muscle, but he was the biggest love bug…our gentle giant! We all miss him terribly! In November 2013 Bynx was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He was given only 3 months to live if we did no type of treatment at all. Dr. Clifford at Hope Veterinary Specialists spoke to us about a study that was being funded by The Puppy Up Foundation. It was a study where we would have to travel to New York City to the Animal Medical Center. There they would take chemo and shoot it directly into Bynx’s prostate. Of course we jumped at the chance to have more time with our buddy. We were so lucky and blessed to take part of this opportunity. Because of the Puppy Up Foundation and the study we got to spend an additional 1 year and 2 months with Bynx. Since his first chemo treatment his tumor had shrunk 30%. It had not grown in size at all and was staying stable!! Then we received a complete shock. On January 26, 2015, Bynx was out playing in the snow with our son Rusty and our other dog Bently. Bynx was running, chasing snow balls, and having fun! He then went and laid down in the snow and passed away moments later. Without any tests done they think he might have had a heart attack. We never thought that something beside cancer would take him from us. Needless to say we are heart broken!! Our 9 year old pup was gone. But, we will be forever grateful to the Puppy Up Foundation. We are extremely thankful for the wonderful opportunity to have Bynx be in the study because of their generosity. Thank you Puppy Up, Thank you so much!!!
