Rescued at 10 weeks old, Austin captured my heart from the moment I laid eyes on him. This Great Pyr mix was my son, my best friend and my protector. Austin was laid to rest on Feb. 1, 2011 after a hemangioma of his spleen grew so large, it ruptured. He was one month away from his 11th birthday. This “silent” cancer took his life within 3 days of first symptoms and forever changed mine. Austin lives on in me every day and was the reason I became involved with 2 Million Dogs. After losing Austin to cancer, I learned about the foundation and decided to join the fight against cancer. — Valerie
