Buddy came into my life after Hurricane Katrina and over the past few years we’ve become best buds. He always wants to be close to me especially when it storms. In November 08, he was diagnosed with Multilobular Osteochondrosarcoma which is a mass that typically attaches itself to the skull. In Buddy’s case the tumor attached to his jaw which gave me the option to have it removed. His operation was on December 22 at the University of Missouri and we were able to head back to Memphis on Christmas eve. I wasn’t able to spend Christmas with my family, but knowing that the doctors were able to remove all of the tumor and I would be able to take Buddy home to play with my other fur kids meant I would have a great Christmas. Buddy also lost his left eye in the surgery. A recent CT scan did not show any signs that the tumor has returned. At some point in his life he lost part of one of his back legs. Up to this point he’s had a rough life. I hope I can make the rest of his life much happier.
