Roberta Portela, DVM, MS, Diplomate ACVIM (Oncology)
MedVet Chicago is pleased to announce Roberta Portela, DVM, MS, Diplomate ACVIM (Oncology) joined the Medical Oncology team on January 20, 2020. Dr. Portela joins Matthew Arkans, VMD, Diplomate, ACVR (Radiation Oncology) and Nathaniel Vos, DVM, MPH, Diplomate, ACVIM (Oncology) as part of MedVet Chicago’s outstanding medical and radiation oncology team.
Dr. Portela earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Sao Paulo State University, Brazil followed by an equivalent Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in the United States via the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) ECFVG program. She completed a rotating small animal medicine and surgery internship at the University of Ontario Veterinary College in Ontario, Canada followed by a medical oncology internship at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in Columbus, OH. Dr. Portela then completed her residency in medical oncology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Urbana, IL.
Dr. Portela is now available on a full-time basis working alongside the rest of our highly trained, compassionate, and experienced medical and radiation oncology team.
