May is “Responsible Animal Guardian Month.” Well, isn’t every month? But there’s actually a month set aside to be extra-responsible.

Being a responsible animal guardian means a lot of things, but one of the most important, and easy to remember, is to pet your pups for lumps and bumps the first of every month. (Cats too.) Of course, we pet them and hug on them all the time, but a thorough going-over at the first of the month is easy to do and easy to remember. If you find anything even remotely suspicious – a new bump, lump, sore, or anything out of the ordinary, it’s time for a trip to the vet. As our friend Dr. Sue reminds us, “Why wait?”  Check here for the 10 warning signs of cancer.

Have a great month, and we hope you find NO unusual lumps or bumps!
